Growing up I was used to seeing tables covered with heavy, floor length table cloths ,layered with silk and lace covers .
It was common to see these types of table covers in almost every respectable household, at least in the formal dining room and maybe in the sitting room. Even side tables would be draped with these heavy and often dreary furnishings.
However, table skirts have recently made a vibrant comeback. The once heavy and often old fashioned pieces have been tossed out and replaced with elegant, practical, and colorful pieces that are now adding pizzazz to a spaces everywhere.
