Midtown Modern
After their children left for university, our longtime clients made the decision to downsize and embrace a more urban lifestyle by relocating to Houston”s vibrant Midtown area. With a desire for simpler,more practical way of living, they reached out to us once again- this time,to help them createa clean,modern home that felt effortlessly comfortable and uniquely theirs. We designed their space with that request in mind,our design approach focused on blending modern interior design principles with personal touches including their impressive collection of vibrant artwork that they brought from Portugal. We kept color palette neutral to be able to showcase their beautiful collection of artwork, and their collection of famous ‘Vista Alegre” porcelan collection.
We started with a neutral,streamlined foundation-crisp architectural lines, minimal ornamentation,and smart storage solutions to support daily functionality. From there we layered with tone on tone soft fabrics, pillows and custom furnishings that offered softness and personality without compromising the clear astetics.
A key element in this Midtown modern project was the integration of the couple’s existing art collection. Each piece was thoughtfully placed to compliment the architecture and elevate overall composition of the space-bringing caracter,color, and a deeply personal touch to the home. The final result is a serene, light-filled residence that feels modern yet soulful, a place to relax,entertain and enjoy the new chapter of life in the heart of Houston.
